Effect of male partners' age on pregnancy outcomes in frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles

男方年龄对冻融胚胎移植周期妊娠结局的影响

Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of male partners' age on pregnancy outcomes and neonatal births during frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles. Methods Four hundred and eighty-four couples who attended First Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University from January 2017 to December 2020 and underwent their first frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) after in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF/ICSI) were selected for the retrospective study, and were divided into group A (389 cases) and group B (95 cases) according to the men's age. All the women were less than 35 years old. The men in group A were under 35, and those in group B ≥35. The general data and pregnancy outcomes of the two groups were compared. The independent-sample t test, χ2 test, and Fisher's exact test were applied. The influence of the men's and women's ages on pregnancy rate and live birth rate were analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis. Results The male partners' age, female partners' age, total gonadotropins (Gn), basal estradiol (E2), and endometrial thickness on the day of conversion in group B were higher than those in the group A [(37.05±3.30) vs. (30.07±2.67), (31.74±2.01) vs. (29.04±2.84), (2 126.97±780.37) U vs. (1 857.31±598.67) U, (56.04±29.47) pg/ml vs. (47.88±19.23) pg/ml, and (10.23±1.66) mm vs. (9.80±1.73) mm; all P<0.05]. The human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) day E2 level in group B was lower than that in group A [(3 683.14±1 791.67) pg/ml vs. (4 088.25±1 681.98) pg/ml; P<0.05]. There were no statistical differences in other indicators and pregnancy outcomes between the two groups (all P>0.05). Conclusion In the first FET cycle, the male partners' age has no effect on pregnancy outcomes and neonatal births when the female partners are <35 years old.

摘要: 目的 探讨在冻融胚胎移植周期中,男方年龄对妊娠结局和新生儿出生情况的影响。方法 采用回顾性分析,选取2017年1月至2020年12月就诊于厦门大学附属第一医院,行体外受精-胚胎移植(IVF/ICSI)之后首次接受冻融胚胎移植(FET)的484对夫妇。女方年龄<35岁,按男方年龄分为A组(<35岁,389例)和B组(≥35岁,95例),比较两组患者的一般资料和妊娠结局。采用独立样本t检验、χ2检验、Fisher确切概率法进行统计学分析,采用二元logistic回归分析男女年龄对妊娠率和活产率的影响。结果 B组男方年龄[(37.05±3.30)岁比(30.07±2.67)岁]、女方年龄[(31.74±2.01)岁比(29.04±2.84)岁]、促性腺激素(Gn)总量[(2 126.97±780.37)U比(1 857.31±598.67)U]、基础雌二醇水平[(56.04±29.47)pg/ml比(47.88±19.23)pg/ml]、转化日内膜厚度[(10.23±1.66)mm比(9.80±1.73)mm]均高于A组(均P<0.05)。B组HCG日E2水平[(3 683.14±1 791.67)pg/ml比(4 088.25±1 681.98)pg/ml]低于A组(P<0.05)。其他观察指标和妊娠结局在两组间比较,差异均无统计学意义(均P>0.05)。结论 在首次FET周期中,女方<35岁时,男方年龄对妊娠结局和新生儿结局没有影响。
