Three cases of appendiceal mucinous neoplasms misdiagnosed as ovarian
tumor

Abstract

Abstract: This article reports 3 cases of appendiceal mucinous neoplasms misdiagnosed as ovarian tumor. All the patients were asymptomatic with atypical ultrasound manifestations; two cases had slightly elevated carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA); all the 3 cases were confirmed by surgery and pathology. Appendiceal mucinous neoplasms is a rare tumor with atypical symptoms, and is easily misdiagnosed. This case report will help clinicians to improve the awareness of appendiceal mucinous neoplasms, reduce preoperative misdiagnosis, and increase the success rate of surgery.

摘要： 本文报道3例阑尾黏液性肿瘤误诊为卵巢肿瘤的病例，患者均无症状，超声表现不典型，2例癌胚抗原（CEA）轻度升高，手术及病理均证实为阑尾黏液性肿瘤。阑尾黏液性肿瘤临床罕见，早期症状不明显，易误诊。通过该病例总结，有助于提高临床医生应对阑尾黏液性肿瘤认知，减少术前误诊，提高手术成功率。
